2020 Congregational Watchword

The Lord has heard my supplication, the Lord accepts my prayer

Psalm 6:9

Update from Pastor Jodie

We have received the following statement from our Provincial Elders' Conference after their participation in a conference call with Dr. Deborah Brix, the White House’s lead medical doctor guiding the pandemic response:  The Provincial Elders’ Conference urges, in the strongest possible terms, that every congregation refrain from holding all worship and fellowship gatherings, effective immediately, and at least until April 30 or until we receive further guidance from government sources.

With that information in hand, we will not be gathering for any worship services through the month of April.

We will not gather to sing Hosana! Blessed is he that comes on Palm Sunday.

We will not gather to hear the Readings for Holy week, for communion on Maundy Thursday or hear of Christ's death on the cross on Good Friday.

We will not gather to joyfully proclaim "The Lord is Ris'n! The Lord is Ris'n Indeed! And these realizations make us sad. But there is good news in all of this, God is with us, today, tomorrow and forever.

These are not normal times for any of us. This is not how any of us would have imagined our lives would look just a few short weeks and months ago. We are physically isolating ourselves in an effort to stop the spread of a  virus. I would strongly encourage you to not completely isolate yourself. Reach out to others through phone calls, email, facebook, facetime or any of the other ways of video chatting. Hearing the voices of others is really a comforting thing especially during these difficult times.

Be gentle with yourself and those who you come in contact with. Smile, wave, shout hello.

We are all in this together and together we can come out stronger on the other side.

Peace be with you!

Pastor Jodie

Welcome to Mountainview Moravian Church's website.

In the late 1940's a group of students from nearby Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA

needed a senior project. At that time construction was underway on the new Hellertown subdivision of Mountainview.

Seeing a need for a Sunday School, the students organized one. The Sunday School first met in a tent and later

in a house just around the corner from the present church building. The congregation was formally chartered on

March 14, 1951. Throughout its history the congregation has been notable for its strong sense of fellowship,

openness to newcomers and commitment to growing Christian disciples one person at a time.

Since August of 2013, Mountainview has had a thriving Clothing Ministry providing free clothing to anyone

who comes during the distribution days as well as to individuals with emergency needs.

To date, over 55,000 items have been distributed.
In 2020, Mountainview will be celebrating 69 years of community based ministry.

We strive to be a community of Christians, sharing God's love and grace through words and actions.

A Message from the Pastor:

As the Pastor of this congregation, I welcome you to our website. I hope you enjoy reading about and seeing images of the various ministries and activities of our congregation. We are a small but active group of Christ followers who believe in living out our faith through words and actions.  If you are looking for a church home, we would love to have you come and worship with us.  Our worship service is mostly of the traditional style with the singing of hymns, praying of a liturgy, reading of scripture and a sermon. Join us when you are able and be a part of a wonderful church family
